St. Patrick’s Day Sweet and Salty Snack Mix

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a delightful blend of flavors in our Sweet and Salty Snack Mix. This festive treat combines crunchy corn chips, toasted rice cereal squares, and PLANTERS® Dry Roasted Peanuts. The magic happens when they’re coated in a luscious mixture of brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla, and baking soda, creating a sweet and salty harmony. To add a touch of Irish cheer, toss in chopped crème de menthe chocolate thins. It’s the perfect snack to share and savor on this joyous occasion!

  • 4 cups corn chips
  • 4 cups toasted rice cereal squares
  • 2 cups PLANTERS® Dry Roasted Peanuts
  • 3/4  cup brown sugar
  • 1/2  cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped crème de menthe chocolate thins


  1. Heat oven to 350°F.  Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil.
  2. In large bowl, place chips, cereal and peanuts.
  3. In medium heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar and corn syrup.  Cook, stirring, until beginning to bubble and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.  Stir in vanilla and baking soda.  Pour over ingredients in bowl. Toss to coat.  Spread mixture onto prepared baking sheet.  Bake 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  4. Cool on pan; break up into chunks. Toss in chopped crème de menthe chocolate thins. Store in an airtight container.
