The PLANTERS^® brand was founded in 1906 by Italian immigrant Amedeo Obici in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He began his career as a bellhop and fruit stand vendor, eventually investing in a peanut roaster and calling himself “The Peanut Specialist.”
